Multi Million Pound Business Park Set for Wrexham
Plans to develop WrexhamΓÇÖs first business park are proceeding with council officers appealing for authority to purchase 30 acres of land located at Croesnewydd.
Wrexham CouncilΓÇÖs head of assets and development Steve Bayley has been quoted as describing the plans as a ΓÇ£sustained and forward thinking developmentΓÇ¥ that will ΓÇ£bring high quality and high value jobs to Wrexham and the wider regionΓÇ¥, whilst also improving transport links.
Mr Bayley revealed that a quarter of all the jobs in Wrexham were in the manufacturing and industry sector and it is hoped that the business park will diversify this, delivering more research-led business attracting ΓÇ£creative industries, new technologies and scientific research.ΓÇ¥
ΓÇ£ItΓÇÖs impossible to say how many jobs will be created but this will be a very important part of our infrastructure and a long-term boost for employment opportunities.ΓÇ¥
The first phase of development, consisting of over 500,000 sq ft is hoped to commence in spring next year with a completion date expected by October 2012.
