London’s St Katharine Docks sell for ┬ú156m
St Katharine Docks, located in Central London, is subject of a £156m offer from a joint venture between investment company Max Property Group PLC and Newmarket Property Holdings.
The 10 acre site, comprising of shops, restaurants and office space, is the only marina located in Central London.
The purchase will be part of a proposed major refurbishment, rejuvenating The Docks in order to provide “a beautiful place to work and live in Central London”, according to Nick Leslau, the wealthy entrepreneur behind Max Property Group. Nick, who in 2008 featured in Channel 4ΓÇÖs The Secret Millionaire, described the location as “one of London’s jewels, providing a stunning waterside environment, enhanced by the magnificent backdrop of Tower Bridge and the Tower of London.”
With the purchase expected to be completed in early August, Commodity Quay is the first building scheduled for renovation and will provide 130,000 sq ft of office space ready for 2013 ahead of other major developments in the vicinity.
As the demand for grade A office space throughout Central London continues to recover post-recession, this development will deliver valuable new office space in an area that could see a shortfall in supply as soon as 2012
