Historic Yorkshire Property from BBC Drama Series up for Auction

A Grade II listed former woollen mill, which was used in the BBC’s production of the Marlborough Mills drama series, is going under the hammer for an estimated ┬ú1.75m.

Dalton Mills currently provides business space to a number of local firms, offers 53,000 sq ft along with a further 157,000 sq ft which is vacant and ready for conversion.

Simon Bailey, auctioneer at King Sturge, commented that the space “can be adapted to many uses”. It is also exempt of empty rates and provides a “good income”.

The property offers a collection of five separate historic buildings that were built in the 1860s, which are set around a courtyard in the Yorkshire town of Keighley.

Dalton Mills will be auctioned today at the Meridien Hotel in Piccadilly, London, at 2pm.
