Following news this morning that Manchester-based law firm Halliwells is planning to go into administration with debts reaching ┬ú25m, rival company Hill Dickinson has now been linked with the former’s Spinningfields office in Manchester city centre.
It is speculated that Hill Dickinson, who won Legal Business Awards’ National Law Firm of the Year 2010, will move into the space at 3 Hardman Square and take over various teams within Halliwells.
Hill Dickinson is reportedly keen to expand their Manchester base, and currently have a requirement out for office space in Manchester city centre. Spinningfields is popular with the law industry along with other sectors including banking and finance.
Halliwells, who signed for 120,000 sq ft of space at Spinningfields in 2004, now reportedly have just five days to negotiate the future of the business, which includes disposing of assets and dissolving the practice.
Hill Dickinson is currently based on Fountain Street, close to Arndale shopping centre and Piccadilly Gardens.
