Green Light for Leeds Office Development
A 10-storey hotel and office development in the centre of Leeds has been given the go ahead after approval from planning officers.
Back in August we blogged about the outlined plans that have now come to fruition. The development will see the construction of a 130-bed hotel and restaurant, in addition to 50,000 sq ft of Grade A office space. Once complete the building will hold a BREAAM rating, with on-site renewable sources producing at least 10% of the energy requirements.
Leeds based Gregory Projects and Marshalls secured the approval for the 0.6 acre site located adjacent to Leeds Train Station.
The Yorkshire Post has reported Richard Tovey from Gregory Projects saying, “We are delighted to have secured approval for this development which is a major coup for the west end quarter of Leeds. This area continues to be the heartland for grade A office accommodation in the city with the distinct advantage of being close to the busy main line rail station. We intend to pre-let the offices which will allow potential occupiers the chance to influence the overall design and layout of their space.”
Richard Dunn from leasing agent Sanderson Weatherall added, “We are in discussions with a number of potential occupiers and believe the space will be of particular interest to the financial and professional services sector.”
Hotel chain Premier Inn have already agreed a lease, with a location close to both the city centre and train station proving particularly attractive.
