Green Light for Crown Estates Office Expansion
Westminster Council have given permission for Crown Estates to undertake the regeneration of two buildings on Regent Street, paving the way for the creation of nearly 300,000 sq. ft. of Central London office space on a site which will be known as W5.
Speaking to Estates Gazette, David Shaw, Head of the Regent Street portfolio at the Crown Estate explained: ΓÇ£With all our newly developed office space now let and no material retail space available on Regent Street our strategy continues to be to enhance and improve the street for the benefit of visitors as well as all those that live and work in Regent StreetΓÇ¥.
Crown Estates also had a separate application for the expansion of office space at its Gateway Project on Piccadilly approved, which will see the amount of office space offered at the SW1 building increase to 90,000 sq. ft.
ΓÇ£We welcome the decision by Westminster City CouncilΓÇ¥ continued Shaw, ΓÇ£these proposals will regenerate the area and revive these historic buildings in line with the Regent Street brand values of quality, heritage, style and successΓÇ¥.
