Gold Medallist Helps to Launch MWB Sponsored Program
Commonwealth Gold Medallist Adam Whitehead joined serviced office space provider MWB Business Exchange at the launch of the ΓÇ£Make a SplashΓÇ¥ campaign ΓÇô an initiative to deliver swimming programs across London.
With the London Olympics edging closer, the ΓÇ£Make a SplashΓÇ¥ program intends to bring the opportunity to swim to thousands of Londoners by delivering temporary pools to schools and community centres across the capital.
Make a SplashΓÇÖ will deliver six temporary pools to aquatically-deprived areas of London over the next few months. The 2009-2010 tour gave pool access to over 5,000 Londoners and hopes to reach even more this year with no fewer than 12 Make a Splash projects in 2011-2013.
Supported by MWB Business Exchange and run by Total Swimming, the program will travel to some of the most disadvantaged areas of the capital and be open to people of all ages as part of the Mayor of LondonΓÇÖs PlaySport London Programme.
Having just completed the Great Swim at Royal Victoria Dock to raise money for the Variety ClubΓÇÖs ChildrenΓÇÖs Charity, MWB Business Exchange Chief Executive John Spencer explained:
ΓÇ£Swimming is such a brilliant and fun exercise. But so many people are denied the opportunity to enjoy it because they donΓÇÖt have access to a pool.
ΓÇ£Make a Splash is a wonderful initiative because it brings the joy of swimming to many more people and weΓÇÖre very proud to support it.ΓÇ¥
