Gareth Golfs to Raise Money for Shanzu Hope

OB Account Manager Gareth Smith recently held a corporate Charity Golf Day at the Whittington Heath Golf Club to raise funds for Kenyan children through Shanzu Hope.

Shanzu is a beach resort known to many for its white sands, turquoise seas and thriving tourist trade. In fact, to James and Jayne OΓÇÖKeeffe, it was a honeymoon destination dreams were made of.

That was until the couple encountered the other side of the idyllic retreat in an underprivileged school for orphaned and impoverished children that clearly needed help ΓÇô help that they could afford to give.

Today, JamesΓÇÖ and JayneΓÇÖs charity Shanzu Hope works hard to help provide quality education and comprehensive support for those children in an effort to brighten their lives and improve their futures.

Raising Valuable Funds

Gareth is a good friend of the OΓÇÖKeeffe couple and has been inspired by their efforts to help out however he can. As a keen corporate golfer himself, he arranged a day he knew everyone could enjoy while raising for a worthy cause.

ΓÇ£My friend did all the pre-event organisation and getting the word out,ΓÇ¥ explains Gareth. ΓÇ£I did all of the organising on the day, from getting the players registered to making sure they teeΓÇÖd off on time.

ΓÇ£I also walked the course, took money on the nearest the pin hole and then collated all the scores at the end to see who won.

“We raised £2,055 on the day!”

Are You Inspired by Shanzu Hope?

While the event itself was a massive success, Gareth is still accepting donations to support children in this underprivileged district of suburban Mombasa.

If you can spare any small amount for the cause, please email Gareth.Smith@officebroker.com and he will be able to direct your funds to the right place.

You can also get involved in Shanzu HopeΓÇÖs mission by holding events or even just learning more about what they do ΓÇô visit their website for more information at www.shanzuhope.org.
