Former Colgate Toothpaste Factory May Add to Salford Office Space

A planning outline that would see the former Colgate Factory located in Salford Quays redeveloped into office space has been given approval by Salford City Council according to reports from thebusinessdesk.com.

The development, which will be named ΓÇ£SoapworksΓÇ¥, will form part of the Ivy Wharf development and offer space for a variety of uses in addition to the planned office space.

If the scheme receives full planning permission, when completed this new development will add to the prime office space available in Greater Manchester ΓÇô generating a total of 350,000 sq ft of regenerated office space and offering units ranging in size from 2,000 to 100,000 sq ft.

The developers, Abstract Nikal and the Carlyle Group, hope the £30m scheme will provide a boost to the local economy and allow this iconic building to once more play an active role.
