E.ON Pre-let Nottingham Office Space
The Nottingham office of commercial property firm King Sturge has announced through a press release the successful pre-let of a new 105,500 sq. ft. office space development in Nottingham City Centre to utilities giant E.ON.
The new office building will be on the former City Council Treasury Building, which will be vacated in August when Nottingham City Council relocate its staff based in the treasury buildings office space to the new 214,000 sq. ft. Loxley House HQ which they acquired in December 2009.
Matthew Smith, Partner at King Sturge commented “This is another landmark office deal for Nottingham, it is one of the largest lettings ever in the city and sets a record rent level. The requirement has been in the market for several years, though our close relationship with the City Council as landowner, E.ON and their advisers DTZ we were able to help assemble this deal despite strong competition from other schemes/developers.”
The scheme comprises a high quality 9 storey office building totalling 105,000 ft┬▓. The specification will deliver the city centres first BREEAM Excellent building, E.ON required cutting edge technology to substantially reduce carbon emissions.
A planning application due for determination on the 21st July 2010 and the building is due to be completed in April 2012 when it will house 800 staff as E.ONs National Contact Centre for their retail business.
