Creative Office Space in Doncaster Given Green Light
A project aimed at encouraging entrepreneurship in the creative industries has been given the green light in Doncaster, with studio, office space and conference space set to be constructed on the former site of Doncaster Art College.
The Church View project was passed by Doncaster Council, making way for a 50,000 sq. ft. space that will encompass 58 new studios, office space and workspaces all based around a landscaped courtyard.
In a press release on the project website, John Wright, Doncaster Central Development TrustΓÇÖs Head of Enterprise was quoted as saying:
ΓÇ£We believe Church View will become a centre point for the community in Doncaster. We hope it will attract back graduates who have left the town as well as local entrepreneurs who want a credible, creative setting in which to develop their business ideas.ΓÇ¥
ΓÇ£As a not-for-profit organisation, we are wholeheartedly committed to using Church View for the good of the community. We want it to be a really stimulating place and a building local people are justifiably proud of.ΓÇ¥
Due for completion in June 2011, the Church View project will also offer a bar/café and conference and events facilities alongside the creative office space. Meeting rooms and co-working spaces will also be integrated into the development.
