Construction Finally Begins on Vanguard House

The North West Development Agency (NWDA) funded ΓÇ£grow-onΓÇ¥ development of the Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus has finally begun construction.

Originally planned by developer St Modwen, the NWDA has revived the £9m project after it was mothballed in 2008 following the onset of the economic downturn.

In a press release Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive of the NWDA, said: ΓÇ£This new building is a crucial next stage in the development of Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus. The investment by the NWDA in the Campus has proved to be a great success with almost 100 companies now on site and high demand for this next stage of development. I am delighted to be breaking the ground on site today, marking the start of construction on this important building for the Campus and the region.ΓÇ¥

The new development will be known as Vanguard House and provide a variety of offices, workshops and laboratory spaces with the 36,000 sq ft building and is located between Runcorn and Warrington near junction 11 of the M56.
