Birmingham hosts global Twitter event – Brum Twestival
A global Twitter festival is due to be taking place in Birmingham, on Thursday, March 25, at Poppy Red in the Arcadian.
Known as the ‘Brum Twestival’, the event will bring together Twitter and social networking fans from all over the country, with other Twestivals taking place across the globe on the same day.
Tickets cost £5 and all proceeds are going to international humanitarian organisation Concern Worldwide, a charity set up to help children in developing countries attend school and gain a full education. The Brum Twestival is aiming to raise £2,000 for the cause.
The event will provide a networking opportunity and allow people from all walks of life to connect, be it for business or leisure. There will be a selection of Birmingham DJs entertaining the crowd, along with refreshments and a raffle.
This is the second year of Twestival. Last year’s event saw 202 cities across the globe taking part, which raised over $250,000US for Charity: Water.
According to TheBusinessDesk, Jashpal Mall, Birmingham’s Twestival organiser, said:
“Twestival is a chance to showcase the great opportunities that Twitter presents. It is a fantastic social networking tool that can connect people in a really positive way.
“We’re encouraging as many people as possible to come along to Brum Twestival and learn about Twitter for themselves. The event is for a good cause and promises to be a night of fun, food and drink, with great raffle prizes on offer.”
