BCA Conference 2011
This week marked the 21st conference of the Business Centre Association (bca), with members of the serviced office space and workspace industries coming together in Central London to discuss industry matters, network and learn from the guest speakers.
Held at the Hilton Hotel in Canary Wharf, the conference took place over two days (16th & 17th May) and kicked off with the appointment of Workspace PlcΓÇÖs Harry Platt as the new Chair of the bca board, having taken over from Julie Grieve ΓÇô a role which we wish him all the best in going forward. Julie will continue on the board in her capacity as Immediate Past Chair.
Highlights from the event included a series of engaging presentations from guest speakers Justin Urquhart-Stewart, Caspar Berry and Phil Male ΓÇô all of which offered insight and raised questions during their presentations that both challenged and capitated the audience.
As was shown in our latest office space research (a special printed edition of which was distributed to members during the event) key areas of the UK are beginning to show signs of recovery, a sentiment which was reflected by the vast majority of members at conference. This was also expressed and explored by those involved in the final debate on Tuesday ΓÇô a feature which closed out the conference and was facilitated by Property Week Editor Giles Barrie.
Special mention should also be made of the bca team and exhibitors at the event, all of which put on a great display and helped to create an interactive buzz before, during and after the auditorium activity.
