Basepoint Hampshire Supports Smile Charity

Basepoint Hampshire Supports Smile Charity

The Hampshire based teams of serviced office provider Basepoint, which operates 28 business centres around the UK, have come together to offer their collective support to Smile, a local charity that provides help to families with disabled children and young adults.

Basepoint is owned by leading UK grant-making charity the ACT Foundation, and as such each centre is dedicated to raising funds for their selected cause. The ACT Foundation also matches any money raised by the chosen charity up to the value of £10,000 per centre.

Smile provides one-to-one care and support to families which they tailor depending on the level of need, whether it’s a few hours a week or full 24-hour care. The charity’s trained and qualified carers organise a range of activities such as day trips for children or swimming pool visits, and also offer support in the family’s own home.

Karen Osborne, Area Manager for Basepoint, explained that the centres would normally choose charities on an individual basis but on this occasion decided to pool their resources and group together to help Smile.

“(This) means we’ll be able to provide up to ┬ú80,000 in funding thanks to our parent company,” she said. “We’re delighted to offer our support for such a worthy cause – it’s important for us to give something back to the local community.”

Stuart Baldwin, Chief Executive of Smile Support & Care, said:

“We’re delighted that Basepoint’s Hampshire business centres have joined together to raise essential funds to support our work. We look forward to joining with the centres over the coming months to help us continue to support families with disabled children and young adults living in the region.”
