Asda Office Expands in Leeds
Supermarket chain Asda has expanded its office based presence in Leeds through acquiring 2 floors, totalling 38,000 square feet of space, at £17m The Mint development in Holbeck.
After AsdaΓÇÖs recent acquisition of Netto stores and resulting expanding personnel, the extra space was required for accounts payable, the customer contact centre and IT teams. Located within close proximity of Asda House, Asda’s headquarters, the new office will provide space for 350 employees, with meeting room facilities and a restaurant on hand.
Colin Hayes from Deltalord, the developer of The Mint, welcomed Asda to the space; “The considered fit-out by Asda’s design team has fully realised the architect’s vision of a light filled, high-tech modern office space.”
Asda’s President and CEO Andy Clarke officially opened the office saying “Asda is Leeds born and bred and I’m delighted that we have been able to extend our commitment to our home city, as well as offer a fantastic new space for our colleagues.”
“Leeds is a great city for business, and I hope that our commitment to new space in the centre will encourage others to the market.”
The Mint’s BREEAM rated offices offer flexible space in Holbeck, a vibrant business quarter in Leeds City Centre with excellent access to the M1 and public transport links.
