£100m Bridgehead Business Park Development
Work is set to go ahead in the New Year at the £100m Bridgehead Business Park development in Hessle, near Hull, after property development company Wykeland Group revealed plans.
Set in close proximity to the Humber Bridge, the 50 acre site is expected to create more than 600,000 sq foot of space, delivering offices, manufacturing and research labs. Up to 3,000 jobs could be created with WykelandΓÇÖs development director Stephen Hudson describing the park as ΓÇ£playing a key role in our regionΓÇÖs economy, especially as a support location to the growing renewable sector in the regionΓÇ¥ and it ΓÇ£will provide high quality space to enable businesses to expand and at the same time attract major new investment from out of town.ΓÇ¥
Mr Hudson added that WykelandΓÇÖs ΓÇ£ intention is to create a ΓÇÿnext generationΓÇÖ and YorkshireΓÇÖs greenest business park with low density development and careful attention to the local environment, with around 40% given over to landscaping which will incorporate a detailed bio-diversity strategy.”
Property Consulatants PPH Commercial are set to market the site, with Partner Nick Pearce welcoming the development saying that it ΓÇ£will quickly establish itself as the premier business park serving the whole region.ΓÇ¥
ΓÇ£The availability of new quality Grade A office space has significantly reduced in Hull and East Yorkshire in the past two years and this will provide much needed space for the regionΓÇÖs progressive businesses as well as helping to attract inward investment.ΓÇ¥
During Q3 2011 officebroker.com witnessed a drop in the number of people searching for and taking serviced office space in the Yorkshire and Humber region. However a rise in both workstation price and the amount of space taken per placed client has increased, mirroring the trend seen nationally. This is perhaps an indication that larger and more established companies are opting for the flexible solutions that serviced office space offers.
