There are direct, covered walkways, from the platforms to both Grand Central amenities and the Bullring shopping centre. Additional train stations in the city centre are Birmingham Moor Street and Birmingham Snow Hill, with the latter serving the city’s financial area including Colmore Row. Birmingham has a large international airport, with daily flights to worldwide destinations including the USA and Asia, making it a perfect location for multi-national businesses. The airport can be accessed from the city centre within 15 minutes by car or less by rail and has an onsite business park, where you will find British Car Auctions and Lloyds. Trams will soon be operating in the city, conveniently connecting much of the city centre to the surrounding areas and Birmingham International Airport.

What does the future hold for Birmingham?

The “Big City Plan” is Birmingham’s 20 year vision for the city centre and is sure to see the arrival of a number of positive and exciting changes. Road networks, public transport and properties will be further developed and proposals are in place to create more distinct character areas, or quarters, within the city – similar to that seen in Manchester. 2016 will see the opening of a new superior 4* hotel on Broad Street, Park Regis, and a number of new gourmet eateries, such as The Alchemist, Gusto and Adam’s. With interest in offices in the city peaking and the new Grand Central terminal attracting big names, 8 million sq ft of office space is said to be completed by 2019.
