Located on the historic St Pauls square in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, with views facing out onto the church and its rolling green gardens, City Spirit St Pauls occupies a quiet location in an otherwise bustling part of the city.

Situated within an attractive Georgian building on the edge of the square, City Spirit is an independent business centre operated by a team of professionals with customer service at heart. An influx of testimonials from satisfied clients is evident of the team’s commitment to providing a high level of service, along with their dedication towards maintaining a pleasant, trouble-free working environment.

Furthermore, their keen interest in their clients’ welfare has generated a stimulating business community – fuelled by regular interaction such as networking events, social activities and regular communications by the City Spirit team.

Tenant Kevin McNally from Serco plc said that he receives a “great service from personable staff, who want to make life as easy as possible for us,” while Dr James Lucas from FRCPath said that he is “particularly impressed” by the range of support services available at City Spirit, highlighting the “flexibility of staff and their efforts to understand their client’s needs.”

The centre is located within a Georgian building in central Birmingham.

Dr Lucas also commented on the strong sense of community at the business centre, referring to the “enjoyable and supportive atmosphere” in the building, which he said is fostered through “innovative networking opportunities, regular newsletters and social activities.”

Consistent interaction with clients not only keeps them informed of necessary information and matters of interest such as development plans, but also keeps communication channels open and helps any potential issues to be addressed and resolved before they can escalate.

Furthermore, social and networking events between clients is recognised as a useful method in driving new business – something that is practised throughout the serviced office community and which plays a key role at City Spirit.

“Anne and the team have created a stimulating business environment that is highly appreciated by their clients,” commented Chris Meredith, Head of UK Sales at officebroker.com. “Based on their client feedback, it’s clear that they run a tight ship and have an excellent team in place who run the centre and support their clients with very high levels of customer service.”

He added: “From our point of view, it’s always a pleasure to work with the team at City Spirit – they are efficient and forthcoming, they look after our clients, give an excellent tour, and always provide regular feedback.”

Chris also commented on City Spirit’s Managing Director, Anne Corstorphine. “As a bca member she is always in attendance at the industry events and is passionate about the serviced office sector,” he said. “I believe she is a great barometer for independent providers in the UK and for the industry as a whole.”

City Spirit has continued to expand under Anne’s direction and reached record occupancy levels in March this year, partly due to its high quality facilities that includes video conferencing, shared space and hot-desking options for freelancers, Wi-Fi access with full on-site IT support, a caf├⌐ and even an on-site gym.

It is the quality of facilities on offer, combined with the professional service from the management team, that generated numerous endorsements from clients and helped the centre to win June’s Business Centre of the Month title.

Commenting on winning the Award, Anne said: “A company’s reputation takes years to establish, and any recognition in the form of awards is therefore not only fantastic news, but testament to the work of the whole City Spirit St Pauls team.

“We are great believers in the power of others ‘endorsing’ what we do, which is why we strive not just to meet client expectations, but to exceed them, and winning this award spurs us on to continue to offer exceptional service.”

Commenting on their continued success this year, Anne said that it is partly their differentiation that allows City Spirit to stand out in “a crowded marketplace”, but it is also the people behind the centre that make it what it is.

“We have put in place a team that we believe can meet client requirements precisely,” she said, “so this is a reflection of their hard work. WeΓÇÖre delighted to receive such a positive accolade.”
