The city of Birmingham will once again be represented at MIPIM in 2012, the world’s largest property show, as the City Council seeks to promote the city to investors and property developers as a location with international appeal.
Attended by over 18,000 delegates from 90 countries each year, MIPIM is held in the luxury of Cannes each spring, providing a platform from which locations such as Birmingham can outline the investment potential available within the area.
According to various reports, Birmingham City Council have secured partnership agreements with a host of high profile companies including the likes of Argent and Jaguar Land Rover, all of which will help to promote the city to potential investors during the annual event.
Highlighting how the MIPIM project represented how effectively the public and private sector could work together for the long-term benefit of the city Mike Whitby, leader of Birmingham City Council explained:
“This year we are working closely together to create a powerful and targeted campaign at MIPIM 2012, but there are still opportunities for new partners to join us. Showcasing Birmingham to thousands of international delegates, financiers, investors and developers will undoubtedly continue to grow the city’s profile as a leading business destination – and attract private sector funding to grow its pipeline of new developments even further.”
Projects which are expected to take centre stage include the new Enterprise Zone destined for the city centre, along with the redevelopment of New Street Station which is expected to transform the image of Birmingham to visitors.
