On Sunday 5th of June at 11am, the locals of Sutton Coldfield will be joined by 6000 fun runners competing in this year’s Great Midlands Fun Run, including officebroker.com’s Greater London Account Manager, Gareth Smith.
Gareth and a group of 20 family and friends are running together to raise awareness for Saracoma, a rare cancer of connective tissue, which sadly took the life of one of their close friends, Gemma Boland, back in February.
Hoping to raise around £5000 for The Saracoma Trust, Gareth advises he has been getting ready for the fun run by “jogging with his wife and regularly attending (officebroker.com's) Monday night football.”
The 8.5 mile course around Sutton Coldfield always provides a superb atmosphere with great support from the locals who are always on hand providing water from all sources, including the more unconventional - water pistols. This will come as much relief for the competitors if temperatures are similar to that of 2009.
Everyone here at officebroker.com would like to wish Gareth and his fellow fun runners the best of luck in achieving their target donation and we look forward to blogging about how he gets on.
