According to a report in today’s Liverpool Echo, a serviced office provider based in Birkenhead has taken the decision to open its Enterprise Suite for Women up to male entrepreneurs after to-few female entrepreneurs took advance of the exclusive business suite.
Launched in 2007, the Enterprise Suite for Women offered female entrepreneurs the opportunity to take low-cost office space and use the facilities on site to further their entrepreneurial endeavours. The scheme had gained the support of both Women in Business (NW) and the Northwest Development Agency.
Despite the original intentions for the business suite coming to an end, the office space is still set to help business start-ups and other entrepreneurial activity when it is re-branded and opened up to both male and female entrepreneurs from the 1st May. The new centre will be membership based and apparently offer access via a £50 annual membership and £10 per day fee for use of the onsite IT facilities.
Liz Whaling, manager of the business centre was quoted as saying: “We are really excited about the expansion of this service, which will soon be made available to all micros and start-ups in the Wirral, and we hope our existing women users will continue to enjoy the facility.”
