42,000 sq ft of grade A office space is amongst the plans for Halifax town centre after a major regeneration scheme for the West Yorkshire town was finally agreed with Yorkshire Forward.
This grade A office space in Halifax will form part of a 227,000 sq ft project due to be completed in two phases. Initial work is due to commence onsite in late spring with an intended competition date of Summer 2010.
Having already apparently pre-let 70% of the first phase, the “Broad Street Plaza” mix-use scheme looks set to transform the centre of Halifax both in visual appeal and through the services and facilities it will deliver to both tenants and the local population.
Environment director Jan Anderson at Yorkshire Forward, said: “We are delighted that our assistance on this key city centre site in Halifax enables considerable private sector funding to flow; this is good news, securing much needed development in a difficult market, with positive benefits for both jobs and the local economy in Calderdale." at Yorkshire Forward, said: “We are delighted that our assistance on this key city centre site in Halifax enables considerable private sector funding to flow; this is good news, securing much needed development in a difficult market, with positive benefits for both jobs and the local economy in Calderdale."
