Construction Finally Begins on Vanguard House

The North West Development Agency (NWDA) funded “grow-on” development of the Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus has finally begun construction.

Originally planned by developer St Modwen, the NWDA has revived the £9m project after it was mothballed in 2008 following the onset of the economic downturn.

In a press release Steven Broomhead, Chief Executive of the NWDA, said: “This new building is a crucial next stage in the development of Daresbury Science and Innovation Campus. The investment by the NWDA in the Campus has proved to be a great success with almost 100 companies now on site and high demand for this next stage of development. I am delighted to be breaking the ground on site today, marking the start of construction on this important building for the Campus and the region.”

The new development will be known as Vanguard House and provide a variety of offices, workshops and laboratory spaces with the 36,000 sq ft building and is located between Runcorn and Warrington near junction 11 of the M56.
