The former Lycast Foundry Works, which ceased operations in 2006, located in South Yorkshire has been given the green light to be redeveloped into a mixed use scheme featuring 37,500 sq ft of office space.

It is hoped the scheme will be operational by mid 2010 and Nick Gillott, design and build manager of contractors and developers JF Finnegan, was keen to promote the advantages of the site.

"The large site lends itself well to a mix of uses due to its scale and pivotal location, which is easily accessible via the M1 Motorway from J31 to the east and J33 via the Sheffield Parkway to the north; it also has good public transport links”

Following approval by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council the site will be transformed to feature five industrial units totaling 196,030 sq ft, parking for 270 cars and three office units offering 37,500 sq ft of office space. The site will also host a 60 bed hotel, pub and restaurant.
