The Home Office takes space in Warrington

As the North West becomes the target for Government officials moving out of Whitehall, the Home Office has now reportedly taken office space at Warrington in a 25-year lease.

Having signed up for 157,000 sq ft of space at Birchwood in a deal with landlords Marshal CDP, the department will reportedly occupy 55,000 sq ft of the building, along with an extension on a six-acre site.

Simon Marshall, managing director of CDP, said:

"The continued assistance of the Homes and Communities Agency and Warrington borough council, particularly during the planning process, has been instrumental in the Home Office's decision to choose Birchwood Corporate as the location - an outstanding achievement for all involved."
