In a major deal for the North East, Tesco Bank has recently signed a lease agreement for 100,000 sq ft of office space in Newcastle, at the Quorum Business Park, just 10 minutes outside of Newcastle city centre.
The office is set to be Tesco Bank's insurance customer service centre, and has been reportedly secured on a 15 year lease. The firm is also said to be looking to recruit around 1,000 new staff at the Newcastle office.
According to Property Week, Benny Higgins, chief executive of Tesco Bank, said:
"Newcastle is the ideal home for our new insurance customer service centre. The city is a great fit for our business and as it develops we will be investing even more in the region over the coming years."
Fergus Trim of Quorum Development Partners, said:
"We have been investing heavily in the infrastructure and amenities at Quorum and are pleased this is now enticing in major occupiers of the size and quality of Tesco."
