On Sunday 11th October 2009, the EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon takes place on the streets of Birmingham.
Taking part in the event is our very own Matt Elleman, a Designer here at officebroker.com, who is running on behalf of Cancer Research, the world's leading cancer support and research charity.

Matt will be taking on the 13-mile half marathon in order to raise money for Cancer Research, and has been pounding the streets 5 nights a week in preparation. As part of his strict regime, Matt runs anything between 5 and 14 miles a session, with a target of 1 hour 50 minutes on the day. Now that’s dedication!
We caught up with Matt to find out how his training is going:
"I miss chips," says Matt, "and I hate ice baths, but I'm looking forward to the event. I just hope I don't get tripped up!"
Matt, who's been at officebroker.com for just over a year and a half, is a regular at charity events such as the half marathon. In fact, he recently completed the Sutton Park 10k event, and has got several more coming up this year.
The Annual Bournville Leafy 10k run takes place on October 4th, and then following the Birmingham half marathon on the 13th, Matt will then take on the Coventry Half Marathon and the Mercia Mile - both on 25th October.
"My feet deserve a break," says Matt, who after all that, is then off for a much-deserved holiday.
