TerraCycle, a US recycling business that was founded in 2001, has acquired office space in London in order to expand its operations into the UK and European market.
The company focuses on 'up-cycling', where materials are kept in their original form and re-used rather than being broken down and made into other items. The waste products are cleaned, and then shaped, sewn or fused into useable products.
TerraCycle has become recognised in the US for its affordable, eco-friendly products, and have set up a partnership in the UK with Krafts Food UK. According to Recycle.co.uk, the agreement will make sure that Kenco and Tassimo coffee packaging is kept out of British landfills.
The green-thinking business was helped into the UK by Think London, a foreign investment government agency that aims to help international firms to find free office space in London.
