A historic Grade II listed property in Ramsgate, Kent, has been sold to developers with the intention of being converted into an enterprise centre and serviced office space.

Previously a Customs House, the property is said to be in a poor state of repair but offers enormous potential. Redevelopment work is said to have already started on the building.

According to a local newspaper, Terence Painter, of Terence Painter Properties, the agency that handled the sale, said:

"It's an important time for Thanet and in particular Ramsgate with the new high-speed rail link, and we are finding more and more investors are keen to do business in the area. We hope that this 'Enterprise Hub' will help to provide an additional point of reference for these Clients and other new visitors."

James Painter, son of Terence Painter and also part of the agency, said:

"The main focus will be on accommodating firms that are able to offer business to business assistance and services for new companies wanting to relocate in Thanet, whilst also providing information essential for those already in the area who are looking to explore new opportunities."
