Boost for London's West End office space market

Today, the West End in London has reportedly received two of its biggest office space deals since the beginning of the recession.

A property on Savile Row in Mayfair - which was built on the site of the former English Heritage HQ - has gained two separate leases for office space, one by insurance entrepreneur Clive Cowdery, and a second by General Atlantic Partners, an American private equity group.

The two companies leased space for £91 and £85 sq ft respectively.

According to a report by the Daily Mail's Money section, Simon Tann, Senior Director of CB Richard Ellis who advised on the deals:

"There are people who want to be in the West End, and they are still willing to pay money for the right product."
