Mentoring programme launched to assist small businesses in the North West

The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) has launched a £4.9m scheme, which is set to provide free mentoring services for senior managers of small businesses in the North West.

In a three-year programme that is part of a wider government-led initiative of business support products, the project will deliver one-to-one mentoring starting this month. To be eligible, businesses must have been trading for more than 12 months and have less than £2 million sales turnover per annum.

Steven Broomhead, chief executive at the NWDA said:

"Mentoring is a key element of the agency's Leadership & Management Framework for Action. We understand that by helping businesses to invest in the development of their leaders and managers we can help create robust and competitive businesses that will ultimately contribute significantly to the economic success of England's North West."
