Imperial College buys West London BBC site

Imperial College have bought a West London site from the BBC, for a reported £28m.

Previously occupied by BBC Worldwide, which has now relocated to the White City Media Village, the site will be used by Imperial College for teaching, research and administrative facilities.

According to Property Week, Dr Martin Knight, chief operating officer of Imperial College London, said: "This purchase is an investment in Imperial's future growth and development."

He also adds: "The acquired site, so close to our existing West London campuses, will allow us to create new teaching, research and administration facilities. It will also allow us to extend provision of quality affordable student accommodation, particularly for postgraduates."
