The biggest office space development in the Jewellery Quarter for two centuries has recently kicked off. Birmingham's Kettleworks scheme, a £160m development which is set to bring 220,000 sq ft of office space to the city, will also meet the highest BREEAM standards.
According to a report by the Birmingham Post, a former kitchenware factory - dating back to 1900 - will be completely refurbished, and a new public square will also be added as part of the development.
Thanks to the ultra efficiency of the scheme, running costs are said to be just £1.75 per sq ft each year – expected to be one of the most cost effective buildings in the UK.
