Landmark Chicago tower renamed after London firm's office space deal

The tallest building in the US, a landmark office skyscraper in Chicago, has been renamed after a London firm which has now taken up the majority of office space there. Known as the Sears Tower since its opening in the 1970's, the property has officially been renamed the Willis Tower, which was a condition of the negotiation deal.
London-based insurance company Willis Group Holdings has certainly enjoyed a boost in PR thanks to the agreement.
However many people are against the name change, according to a report by CNN.com. In excess of 90,000 people have joined a group on Facebook, called 'People Against the Sears Tower Name Change', and 34,000 have signed an online petition.
CNN's article cites one Facebook campaigner who wrote: "This name change is absurd. Would Paris change the name of the Eiffel Tower? Or London change Buckingham Palace? Or New York, the Statue of Liberty?"
