Prince’s Trust scheme for young entrepreneurs and small businesses

Employees from international companies, small businesses and groups of friends all have the chance to compete against each other in the Prince's Trust 'Million Makers' scheme, to turn an initial investment into a profit. Funds raised will be ploughed back into the Trust to continue helping disadvantaged people into business.

The scheme aims to encourage young entrepreneurs to bring their business ideas to life, which will help raise money for the Trust. In addition, the project also provides mentors for participants, offering an excellent opportunity to gain a wealth of experience to help entrepreneurs get their business ideas off the ground.

Caroline Barker-Read, a Marketing Student and previous participant of the scheme, says: "The challenge was exciting and different; I learnt so many useful practical business skills such as networking and sales techniques. It was a really worthwhile experience and now my CV looks great."

According to Realbusiness.co.uk, last year's Million Makers challenge raised more than £500,000 for the Prince's Trust.
