A husband and wife team have transformed a historic pub, which closed as a result of the recession, into modern serviced office space. According to the Manchester Evening News, the property, based in Middleton near Manchester, was converted at a cost of £500,000.

The couple, Paul and Natalie Dardick, are reportedly targeting start-up and small businesses, and have currently secured three tenants.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, Natalie said: "The building itself is 400 years old in parts - as we discovered following an archaeological survey - and we've retained many of the original fixtures including old beams. But we've also turned it into a thoroughly modern facility which has fibre optic broadband and a boardroom."
