Birmingham law firm provides free support for YMCA project

This week, officebroker.com has learned that Birmingham's biggest law firm, Wragge & Co, is to provide legal support, fundraising assistance and advice for a £13.5 million sustainable home for the YMCA in north Birmingham. The firm will provide all of these services for free, and will help the YMCA raise the last £1.5 million it needs for the project on Reservoir Road, Erdington.

According to the Birmingham Post, the new YMCA facility is a sustainable project designed to provide meeting rooms and office space to support local start-up businesses, as well as 83 flats, a gym and an enterprise zone.

Dinah Patel, solicitor at Wragge & Co, said: "We believe in the benefits of the YMCA's new state-of-the-art development and we are proud to be involved in such a strong local cause. We have been consistently impressed with the YMCA’s work in the local community."

Alan Fraser, chief executive of the Birmingham YMCA, said: "The preparatory work at our site in Erdington has already begun and we are very grateful to be working with Wragge & Co on the project. Their knowledge and experience will be crucial in reaching our targets."
