Cambridge businesses benefit university students

An Employer Mentoring Scheme at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge has just concluded its 6th successful year, with certificates presented by city mayor Councillor Russell McPherson.

The scheme matches students with businesses, and allows the student to go into the office and work with individuals in order to get an idea of what they do, the business culture, and how companies operate in the real world.

In an article by Cambridge News Online, the university says: "A key concern is the lack of business awareness among so many of today's graduates. Employers nationally have repeatedly identified this as a significant barrier to progress."

The scheme aims to tackle this problem. Local companies taking part include Cambridge Consultants, Cambridge University Press, Ridgeons, Keronite, Stafford & Co Chartered Accountants, Cambridge to Africa, PI Consulting, Eversheds, nCipher, and Addenbrookes.
