Birmingham office space survey shows positive results for the city

A survey of 100 senior managers of Birmingham offices has produced optimistic results for the UK's second city. Property consultants Drivers Jonas found that the vast majority of companies they surveyed would want to stay in the city centre.
Speaking to the Birmingham Post, Philippa Pickavance, agency partner for Drivers Jonas's Birmingham office, reported that: "Of the 100 companies surveyed, almost 70 per cent of businesses had been based in the city centre for ten years or more and a third for over 25 years."
The survey looked at top considerations for businesses when moving office. Not surprisingly in our current climate, results show that cost was the top key factor, followed by convenience for staff, image, and then location. Eco-friendly buildings weren't ranked highly on the property strategy - although businesses are said to be "considering the green agenda".
Respondents stated that the best aspects of Birmingham are its central location and good public transport. On top of that, a whopping 84 per cent of respondents reported that there was currently nothing missing from their city centre. For those who would consider moving away from the centre, office space in Solihull is currently perceived as the most important business centre after Birmingham.
