Regus CEO Mark Dixon, who founded the world’s leading provider of serviced office centres over 20 years ago, dropped in at the officebroker.com HQ yesterday (Wednesday 2nd June) to meet the team and learn more about the UK’s largest serviced office broker.

Regus' Berkeley Square centre has recently undergone impressive refurbishment
Mark, who was accompanied by Sales and Marketing Director Vincent Scammell, was given a tour of Sir Robert Peel Mill and met with the company’s 60-strong team, before presenting to officebroker.com Sales representatives on the numerous developments taking place at Regus.
"This is my first visit to a brokerage firm for over 20 years," commented Mark, who also mentioned that there were just 100 business centres in the industry when he first established Regus back in 1989. The company was founded whilst Mark was on a business trip to Brussels, and recognised that travelling business people were often forced to work from hotels when away from the office.
He identified a need for more accommodating office space that was maintained, staffed, and available for companies to use on a flexible basis. Out of this vision came the very first Regus office, and since then the brand has grown rapidly to its current position of the world’s largest serviced office provider, operating over 1000 business centres in 75 countries.
Whilst visiting officebroker.com, Mark spoke of numerous developments currently underway at Regus, which include phasing out branding used throughout the building interiors, a move which has been actioned in response to feedback gathered from existing clients and those who have toured Regus business centres. This toned-down approach enables clients to put their own mark on their office space and make a more established impression to their visitors.

Regus operate over 1000 business centres worldwide
Regus are also rolling out a £12m refurbishment programme on all of their business centres, which will see a range of improvements including new business lounges, reception areas, technology systems and furnishings. One example of serviced office space with a new lounge area is this centre on Berkeley Square in Mayfair.
Other developments include becoming affiliated with the Carbon Trust accreditation scheme, which allows clients to publicise their support of energy efficient practices by being located in a ‘green’ building.
These developments continue to strengthen the Regus offering and create a flexible approach for businesses - something that inspired the Regus brand of office space over 20 years ago and continues to bring value to the global business community today.
