With a turnover of £3million, an office in Dallas, USA and plans to expand to Hong Kong, in five years a Tamworth business is proving to be a real success.

officebroker.com was set up in November 2001 by Jim Venables, of Wigginton, and Andy Haywood, of Castle Bromwich, to help businesses find office space anywhere in the UK.

The company, based at Sir Robert Peel Mill, Fazeley, proved to be so popular that it expanded in May 2006 to Dallas offering the same service for office space in the US. Future plans include offering office space around the globe and looking to set up a Hong Kong office some time this year.

Andy Haywood, 39, said: "We realised that there was an opening for an online company to offer a consultative approach to businesses to help them find office space anywhere in the UK.

"We set up because we saw a niche to provide a complete market overview of office space within any area in the UK and genuinely help the customer find what they are looking for by taking the time to understand their individual needs.

"The great thing is the service if totally free to the customer as we get our fee from the landlord so the customer loves and the help and advise as it costs them nothing."

Customers just log onto officebroker.com which gives examples of buildings in and around their search area. They then request for a search report and staff at officebroker.com ring them to ask questions to put together a personal search report.

They also help get pricing, arrange viewings and get the best deal.

Mr Haywood said: "The greatest challenge so far has been getting the right people to join the team. We believe that our staff are critically important to the success of the business and these people can be difficult to find.

"But our greatest triumph so far is certainly building one of the UK's fastest growing internet businesses."
