Right in the heart of the city centre, St Nicholas' House attracts a range of clients - however it mainly makes a great home for design style companies.
There is a range of space available to a top spec, eco-friendly fitout throughout the building and, although the spaces themselves look a little plain, the idea is for clients to personalise their own office.
The meeting rooms/break out area downstairs are a great way to utilise space; these are also the only offices in Bristol to have a roof garden with great views - not to mention really brilliant customer service.
Andrew Quigley from officebroker.com also visited this building. This is what he thought:
From the outside, the centre looks average... 70's style. As soon as you walk through the doors (buzz in, buzz out) the reception sets the expectation. It is crisp, white, with modern black leather chairs, and a large oversized spherical black light fixture. White tiled reception, glass fronted which was nice.
They had various random styled picture frames, retro/vintage style which worked really well in there, broke down the harshness of the crisp black and white, modern sharp lines etc. Apparently the pictures in there are all just random, and tenants can pop their own pictures in. I waited in a break out area - again same crisp white as reception. Comfortable chairs, sofas etc. Nicely fitted out kitchen. In the basement, but nice and airy from the open atrium. Bright green carpet which was interesting... Worked well.
The centre itself is very quirky! Nice modern touches... just like Ikea. Meeting rooms are down in the basement, they have fresh air pumped in, sweets and drinks in there. I went on a tour with a potential client which was good to see how Zoe (centre manager) acts.
The atmosphere there is great, very chilled out and relaxed. Casual clothing, staff go more for comfort than top-button-done-up style... Very refreshing! Offices are the same style as the other parts of the building, crisp and white. Very high occupancy, only a couple of small offices left when I visitied, which were small, but nice! Kitchens on each floor were really nice, nice modern touches, SMEG fridges in each.
Roof terrace/garden was really nice, great views across the city, Castle Park just across the road. This is the best office that I saw in my opinion. It was nice to see, great relaxed atmosphere, mixture of clients from skater clothing to accountants.
